Plug gap/heat range reccomendations
Ive got a 302 in my truck with a 500 CFM holley, pretronix, accel superstock coil, and quality rotor, wires, and cap. The factory reccomendation for the plugs is Autolite 45's at .35 gap. I have the timing set to about 11* base. I would like to know if I could/should run a different heat range. I have Autolite Platinum 45's gapped at .60 (runs fine, BTW- regapped because I *heard* that i could squeeze some MPG out of it), and I usually run 87 octane.

the best way to determine that is by looking at the old plugs, i however think .060 on the gap is a little much. you can find a plug chart in any haynes manual. DW
