compresion test

Hello I'm wondering what the cyl compresion should be on a 1988 e350 351ci. one cylinder is reading 60 pounds

60 sounds low, but most tech manuals will tell you to take the highest compression figure, and the lowest. These two should be with 90% of each other or so, and all others should fall in between.

60 is way low since you need at least 90 to get a consistent fire. I don't know what it is for a 351, but for a 302 normal is between 170 and 190 if that gives you a reference.

That sounds way too low. What do the others read? Squirt a 3 or 4 squirts of motor oil in the spark plug hole and try it again. If the reading jumps way up, you rings are worn or broken. If it doesn't change too much then it's something to do with the valves.
