What is everyone's opinion on this? On my last Super Duty I went with the 350 just because the price difference was negligible. I do not necessarily need the extra capacity because I don't haul anything extremely heavy. Is the ride that much better on the 250 vs 350?
I tow, so my bias would be for the 350, I would think the ride quality will vary with the spring package, I'm sure others can say more about this.. I would also check the state that you live in and see if there are higher registration taxes for the GVWR.
F350 for me, I would never consider an F250, but I tow heavy. Even if I didn't tow heavy, I would still go 1 ton. You just never know what might happen that might cause you to need that higher capacity, I'd rather have it than not have it.
Current truck is an F250. Very rarely tow heavy, but it happens. Often carry a 3500lb camper and will continue with the new F350. Added air ride to the F250 for the additional rear support and it handles the camper OK. Should be better on the F350 though, we'll see someday.
After testing both, they road the same on a street and freeway. The 250 will be a bit smoother, but is rated lower tows less. If you never plan to tow more than its max. Then the 250 is the way to go. If you plan on hauling a camper, big 5th wheel, or toy hauler than the 350. But, it is your truck. If you want more advice read through the posts.
