I'm in need of some suggestions. I have a new hum noise (literally go "hummm") it goes from 1K to 1500 and from 2500 rpms and up doesnt matter what gear you're in. I'm assuming this means its not the tranny. I checked the belts they look good where do I go from here?
I'll remind you I'm still learning about engines. so please be patient with me.
Originally posted by WXboy This couldn't possibly be an IAC valve issue like the rest of us had could it?
I dont believe so. I don't know much about engines but I dont know of the 2.9 with that problem. (do they even have an IAC valve? guess I better do more reading)
My big concern was that my tranny was just rebuilt a year go, it better not be in there. I'm going to replace the belts anyway (hoping maybe I'm just not strong enough to notice them as loose)
My other just noticed problem is that my 4 ways dont work but my turn signals do. any ideas??
Have you checked out your fuses, and you relays? That would be my first thing to check. It could be the switch too. If you can get the housing off of it it I would check the connection.
Yeah, usually the relay is under the dash. Hard to see, but you can get to it. Probably will look like a square plug, black or yellow probably. Check that first.
And, I didn't realize you had a 2.9. It's probably not an IAC valve then.

sorry WX I do know enough to include the 2.9L 5 speed normally. I just got her back from the paint shop yesterday and he didnt do a good job, my windshield is cracked and now all these things are going wrong with her. I'm just frustrated.
