98 Explorer Toated
Trying to find any info for my Mom,
She parked the 1998 Eddie Bauer Explorer in the Garage about 5:30 after work. She was awakken by the smoke detector about 3:00am with the house full of smoke. There was a Big fire in the garage. Luckily the Fire Department was on the seen in 4 minutes and kept it contained in the garage. The front of the explorer was just about completly melted and all contents of the garage destroyed. Dad does home improvements on the side and lost about every tool he has. The fire department pulled the explorer out of the garage and determined the fire had started under the hood. It had 70,000 miles on it, no problems, always garaged and in perfect condition. And the last payment was made last month. lol
Anyone heard if this is a common problem and if not check your smoke detectors, It probably just save my parents lives

fuel rail leak ? i had a ranger with the acc port on the fuel rail broke off and was spraying fuel, but if yous had a small leak and dripped fuel on a hot exaust manifold that would def start a fire
