The extended cab long bed trucks have the longest frames
I took 2 frames (screw frame)and(extended cab)
the screw frame is still under the truck back of cab forward
if you look at your frame you can see where it seperates with the big rivits .. then I took the extended cab frame and cut it off rite after the boxed area under the seats ...then I cut the top rail of the c channel and set the screw frame inside the extended cab frame they over lapped like 3.5 feet then I plated the full length of the frame with 1/8 steel plate
Thanks, that's helpful. I currently have a screw and have been debating sourcing a extended long bed or a single long bed as my donor for the rear frame section and bed. I figured the extended long bed would be better for the reasons you mentioned,
After All My Craziness I found the frames are the same from the rivits back ....they only differ in what I've been calling the belly (the flat section under the cab)......my crazy half measurements I think the screw the short bed extended cab and regular cab longbed is all the same frame .....the extended cab longbed has the longest belly and the short bed regular cab of course is the shortest
my craziness only sees 3 frames.....I considered putting it all on a f250 or 350 frame but they are shaped completey different...I also considered doing a big frame like a bus or box truck ....but I decided this would be least complicated and move along the smoothest and be plenty strong enough
So I've been slacking on my truck again ...I've done some small things changed the grill shell and bumper to chrome ones I got leather navigator interior bucket seats and center console front and rear ...and I got a gravel parking spot in my back yard so it is in it's own spot and happy till I get back on it ...which I'm hoping is soon...but I'm currently out of work and projects are not possible
First off .....super sad face. 😭😢 because I had no clue it has been over a year since I touched my truck . But in my defense life has been hectic my oldest daughter has been away for awhile and we have had the granddaughter....we
Have been planning to buy a house from our good friend/old landlord ...but they have been slow poking on the remodel because they only work on the house between the houses they do and time off ......so I had to kinda slow down on my projects so I could save some money for the new house which they still don't have done...now the daughter is back and staying with us till on her feet....
Every time I think I'm going to go out and work on my truck.
I get pulled in 10 directions ....someone saying..I need help
....can you do this ... fix this for me .......just tonight I was going to go out and empty the bed out and as soon as I got home from work my neighbor asked me to put a starter on his car...........
So .....to answer in short.....no updates other then I go out in the back yard put my hand on the fender every day and tell the truck I'm going to finish it soon ...lol. I really do in case your wondering
Actually the only progress that I can report is I took the topper off ...emptied the bed out (parts and extra metal) I took a bunch of stuff out of the inside and .
thought I was going to work on it but honestly I still have done nothing ...I could say money/time/kids/wife is the cause . but honestly I dont know why..
I've kinda finished 4 vehicles in the last 6 months and I've repaired both daughter's cars ..I cant say I'm lazy ..I have not lost interest ... sorry for being lame I'll work on it hopefully soon
