Angry '00 F-150 Starting Problems

I'm having trouble starting my 2000 F-150. When the problem occurs, the truck will fire up and then immediately stall. The only way to get it to run when it does this is to apply steady pressure to the accelerator (to simulate idle) until the engine catches. Once the engine catches, it runs and idles fine. The problem only occurs with cold starts. If I turn the vehicle off and start it right back up after its been running for a few minutes, it starts up fine. The problem occurs intermittently, and seems to occur most in damp or humid conditions. The check engine light has not come on, and I've had a garage run a diagnostic test on it and clean out the injectors, and they've found nothing wrong. The problem started occurring about 2 weeks ago. The truck has 57,800 miles on it, and has been serviced (oil changes, tune-ups, etc.) regularly at reputable Ford dealerships since I bought it new. The fuel filter was changed a year ago, and the air filter was changed 4 months ago. I've asked several mechanics about this problem, and nobody can seem to figure it out. Some, including myself, seem to think it has something to do with airflow at start-up (Faulty IAC valve possibly). I would really like to pinpoint the problem before I put anymore time and money into it. If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks...

Try cleaning the mass-air sensor first. Just spray the thin wires with part cleaner or throttlebody cleaner. Do not wipe them, because if you break one, it is garbage. If that doesn't help, then the IAC would be the next step if it were me.

I'm having the same exact trouble with my F-150. It's a 2000 4x4 XLT 5.4L V8. There's about 54,000 miles on it. My problems started about a month ago. I've only replaced the air filter so far. I can also use anyone's suggestions. Thanks.

Please clean the MAF with some electrical cleaner, so as not to damage it or get residue on it.
