Hey guys, today I was on my way to work 30-40 degrees out, and I get about 1/4 mile away and my truck just up and died. Battery light showed up, and white smoke was everywhere. I tried to start it and it kept cranking for a while until it started, very very rough and lugged it across the street where it had died and had it towed to my place.
Now upon charging it back up, it was clunking, instead of turning over every time I tried to start it, and when I would turn the key off, it was like the ignition stayed on for a few seconds. Finally got it to crank over, and same case. Tons of white smoke, smells like diesel, and very rough running, then dies again. No codes, no nothing.
Info on the truck, just changed fuel filters maybe 50 miles prior, with motorcraft filters. SCT tuner with canned tune, egr delete, 4 in turbo back, not much else.
I have heard it may be cracked nozzles? Cracked head? I'm always having issues with this thing, thinking of trading in once fixed. Please help!!
Update, just checking random things, tried the bubble test. Immediately huge bubbles were blowing out of the fuel bowl, and white smoke. What does this mean? Cracked head? Cracked injector? Bad seal? Thanks for the replies. Would love to sort this out over the weekend
