AM/FM/CD problems
I have a AM/FM/CD-6 in a 2002 Ford Explorer, Eddie Bauer. The car has been sitting for about 2 months in my garage with the battery disconnected. After starting the up the car again. Now the buttons on the radio do not work. The ON/Vol works and the Basss/Treble and the Bal/Fade works all other buttons do not work. I can't change between AM/FM1, FM2, CD or tune in or seek a station. The button to load a CD dosen't work nor does the preset buttons and menu. All buttons seem "dead". I can use the button on the steering wheel to change between AM FM1 and FM2 only.
Has anyone had this same problem?? Does anyone how to reset this or make the buttons work again. Anything to try?
Thanks for any help or suggestions.
That would be the normal route. But, the car has been wrecked and has a rebuilt title and thus is not covered by the warranty. I don't think it could be the heat the garage stays around 70 year round it is in an 3/4 underground garage. If you hear of anything or can think of anything to try let me know.
Thanks for your input
If not, I owuld suggest dealing with Speedometer Service. They do all of Ford's repair and warranty work in the south. I have had dealings with them over the last 15 years, and am very happy with the work they do, plus the price for service. You may want to give them a call and see what they say.
Hope this helps...
Thanks I will remove the radio and check out the connections you spoke of. But first I think I will try to see if dampness may be the problem. We have had so much wet weather this summer. I checked the humity in the garage and it was 85% and it has probably been this way for months. Maybe a few days in the outside with dry breezes may help.
Thanks
