another idi smoke thread

93 idi with a banks v2. 260k miles. decent amount of blow by. fuels turns up 2 flats, long cranking. has fresh injectors and glow plugs and fuel filter. new starter as well as good batteries. I was dead set that my hard start was my injection pump, but it seems to have started starting better. my blow by is consistant, no singular puff. on my exhaust I have a constant white puff at idle. dosentf smell sweet, smells like unburnt fuel. even on 2 flats my truck dosent smoke at all. I retorqued the headbolts since I was starting to ooze oil out of the back of the heads. truck seems quick. ive only put 3k miles on it. not sure if I need an engine or if I need a injection pump. when it shifts into overdrive (e4od) it lugs around 1200 rpms and white/grey smoke comes out till it gets in the powerband. what could be wrong with my truck?

Compression and leak down test will confirm condition of the engine, but a decent amount of blowby is normal especially for a diesel.

Head gasket leak needs to be addressed at some point.

Certainly could be injection pump is worn out.

Lmk if I need to start my own thread but I feel that answers to my problems might be beneficial to you as well.

Truck is in the sig.
I was driving this truck for about a week, was running cold, running well. Some people on here had already helped with my fuel issue and got that squared away pretty quick with an aftermarket fuel filter and a gallon of diesel klean.
I drove it to Georgia from Texas and on the way there it started getting warmer than usual (the idiot light came on). We pulled over let it cool, no other issues with it while on the way to or while in Georgia. We figured just to be safe change the thermostat. Oriely's sold me the Murray 4252 thermostat, I have since learned that that is not the right one.
Towing approx. 6000lbs my engine over heated. Cracked radiator, and that's all I know so far.
I have more than normal black smoke if I rev it up, and immediately after getting off the throttle a light grey smoke, and light grey (almost white) smoke on start up.
We have hooked the sniffer to the radiator (the blue to yellow fluid) to check for BHG and the test came back negative.
The Glow plugs don't have 5k on them, I'm unsure on the rest of the truck; injectors, lift pump, IP, etc.
Cold starts have also become harder. Unsure about a loss of power.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

On a brighter not my valve cover gasket and Rear main have quit leaking LOL
