Hey all newby here. In need of serious help . I have a 1997 f250 heavy-duty 5.8 speed density with a 408 stroker kit stock original heads stock cam bored .30 over. Truck won't run rite. Engine builder screwed me and said I needed to do nothing and he proposed this setup to me. What do I do with fuel? What else. Ive some stuff on forums but it just confuses me more. Thank you.
OK.. describe "won't run rite" a little more. There could be a whole pile of things wrong here but the bottom line is if you have changed nothing else but the stroker kit inside the block it should run pretty well as in it should idle normally and drive down the road without issue.
Sorry wifi sucks. I had to set it 15 degrees btdc to get it to run at all and it idles rough. Runs crappy cold. If u really get on it at hi rpms it clears up ok and his. Wen u are going 60 and slow down to 30 and try and hold peddle to cruise at 30 it cuts out runs ****ty. If I pull a capped off vacum port it idles smooth and idles at 1000 rpms and wen u idle it up it's clear.
Truck runs little better warmed up say let it idle for 20 minutes then try to drive away it runs crappy but then clears up. Wen I first start it and try to leave garage it stalls alot wen u attempt to put it in gear. I drove truck other day say 15 minutes to get inspection sticker and it sat there off for 25 minutes and wen I went to leave it would stall numerous times and wen I got going down road it just runs crappy and then some what clears up. Idles a little rough
Ok could u help out as to where I get a tune for it. What about fuel I have heard I need bigger injectors. I have stock ones now. If so what size I don't know the horse power or compression ratio. Thanks
