fuel pump test
I have a 1989 F-250 standard 4x4 w/5.0 Liter engine. I can't hear The fuel pump activate when the key is turned. Both fuel tank pumps are new. Is there a way to check the rail fuel pump with out buying a new one or what test should I run?

On the front of the left fuel rail there is a fitting that is the same size as the the valve to air up a tire. Hook up the gauge there. You can get a fuel pressure test gauge at an auto parts store, Sears also carries them. I think the pressure should be around 40 psi.
