I got it off of Facebook. For what it's worth they said it was at the assembly line. But that doesn't make sense.

Yeah, it doesn't make any sense at all. I was scratching my head on this one, too. By the looks of the guy's in the shirts and ties, it could have begun as some kind of factory photo, but it appears to have been photoshopped. The grille, bumpers, lights, fender emblems, rear quarter panels, have all been modified.

Good thought. But I’m pretty sure that the Stroppe shop was a different size and shape, and received their Broncos already painted in the red and white and blue livery.
Or at least the red and white. I’m not sure if Ford, or Stroppe painted the hoods flat black, and the top panel of the roof blue.
But for sure the factory order included the custom paint scheme.
My first thought was a bailment pool. When I worked at Trailmaster, one of our biggest customers in the Southern California area was a conversion place. They literally received pickup trucks on a train from Ford and Chevy, modified them, including lift kits, wheels, and tires, then sent them out to the dealerships.
But when it comes down to it, I’m in agreement that it might be Photoshop. Look at that second Bronco. Are those low Mount euro style windshield wipers at the bottom of the windshield? Is the length of the hood all wrong compared to the rest of the truck?
I realize it’s an old photo digitized, but there are a lot of squiggly lines and vague points to it.
