This thread started for truck pix (per post #1) but quickly changed to any vintage pic. I've been enjoying it since day one. The hamb was also referenced.
So............
If this FTE thread doesn't give you enough of a fix peruse this H.A.M.B. thread. It's only 5 months old but is 10 long pages of pix and about every one could be posted here. There are over 1,000 pix so far and growing every day.
Caution: If you like to study every pic be sure to have a sandwich and your favorite beverage beside you before you start to peruse it.
Edit:
Wow; I just looked and in almost 10 years I've only posted 49 times. HOWEVER, I come here just about every day to see what's happening.

The way the back end is just bobbed off, I would just take a wild guess that it is something being built, not yet completed. But lets wait and hear from others, someone may not need to take a wild guess and tell us what it really is.

The thread is titled vintage pics and we are doing fine. I'm always excited to see the new posts. If you got a pic of a gal dressed like 1950 sitting on the fender of a Chevy cement mixer truck pouring a sidewalk, post it up because it's still vintage to me and I enjoy it.

I agree. I totally ignore (uncomfortable with) the modern "girls and cars" threads on different forums. But looking back at a few "girls and cars" pictures from 50 years ago and more feels completely different.
Just like our attitudes!
Speaking of Merle... Did you happen to catch the Ken Burns documentary series "Country Music" by any chance? Merle was a featured person-of-interest and had some great segments talking about his experiences with some of the pioneers of the music when he was a kid.
Even for those of you that don't care that much for the music overall, it's a fantastic bit of history and worth the full watch.

I had seen it before a couple of years ago, but when it recorded on PBS a few nights ago, I had to watch it all over again.
The first "chapter" has Merle in it once or twice I think, but his stories got even better in chapter two.
I didn't know I was a Ken Burns fan until I accidentally turned on the first episode ("Inning" they called it) of the series on Baseball. Before that I could not have cared less for baseball, but it was so riveting and dripping in history that I could not stop watching. He's got plenty of others too, that I'm sure are just as good to other people, including a fairly amazing bit of American history called "Jazz" too, but so far for me it's Baseball and Country Music for the wins.
