I've been checking Ford.com 3 times a day waiting for the 2017 Ford F150 to drop.
Will there be new colors? New equipment packages? Has ford ever offered incentives/discounts when the vehicle debuts, or would this be the highest price of the vehicle's lifespan?
I think from what the dealer showed me, they have started building 2017s as of last week or this week, so they should be arriving at dealers soon. TFL truck has a video of the '17 vs the '16 EB towing on the Ford proving grounds posted in this forum.
As noted in the link above, a couple color changes, including the introduction of White Gold. The only notable tech feature I recall was the extension of the BLS to work and extend to the back of the trailer while towing. I'd love that to be a software update since I'm guessing that's all it is, but I won't expect it.
I already see some being advertised in Citrus Motors around here... but it doesn't say the engine or show photos but lists 6-speed automatic, I am inclined to think it's a typo. Been there for weeks.

^^ I'm pretty sure it's just the '17 3.5 EB that's getting the 10-spd. They probably just have it on order; I've seen dealers do that before they actually get the truck in.

X2
2017 F150's don't start rolling down the assembly line until 9/26.

Sure! I see folks say different things but to me, and the general practice in the areas with many dealerships is you can pretty much get the same deal from us (the dealer) any time of year. I don't make more on a truck when it drops than when it's been here 9 months. The difference is in the rebates, and bigger factor is interested rates. The counter is you get a model year newer for a year longer and there can be a justification for a few grand to do that. The big factor to me is trying to buy when 0% is available, but everyone has their own preferences and ways to rate the value they got. No one goes home and brags about their bad deal, and we sell plenty of trucks every month.
Are you saying rebates from the factory or 0% from Ford have no $ effect on your bottom line profit and what deal you would be willing to let the truck go for?
Seems like people ask this question every time a new model year comes out. In general, the biggest discounts are available when the biggest discounts are required. That means, on a brand new generation, you will never get the biggest discounts.
Some folks buy early, and enjoy the truck for an extra six or eight months, and well, who's to say if they get good value out of that time? I think they do. It's been my experience that the largest discounts seem to be from about early spring through August, depending on regional promotions.
