I have a 2012 E-250 with sliding side door. What it the part called that holds the door in the open position and if you have part # that would be great as well
It's hard finding anything related to the slide sliders on the net. I've looked in the past and pretty much came up with nothing helpful. If I had to guess I'd call that part a striker, or catch. If you find anything please post it, both my vans have sliders.
When mine wasn't latching, it's because the cable ends on the cable connecting the door holding latch to the door handles were busted and not letting the latch, well, latch.
Google F150 door fix or something like that.
There are some innovative fixes on here.
I got to practice on my buddy's F150 extra cab doors.
Finally got around to fixing my slider after the 3rd or 4th time it tried to guillotine me.
Worth to $20 or so for fancy aluminum cable ends vs $200 or so for the whole latch and cable because you can't buy the cable separately.
