sunroof help please

I just picked up 1993 EXPLORER XLT in great condition ...only has 88k miles on it. One problem is the sunroof ...it's the type that has a large round **** that you turn and a telescoping mechanism that raises the glass. Well mine is broken and I've tried several different searches on the net to no avail ....could anyone point me in the right direction to help me find the needed parts ?

Thank you for your time,
GoFastGreek

Back in that era (and possibly even still today) Webasto made the sunroofs for Ford. You might try contacting them to see if they can offer you any help.

Do you know what parts are bad, or at this point do you only know the sunroof doesn't work? If you know what parts, is it possible they could be fabricated by maybe a local community college machine shop that takes on projects for minimal cost?
