Part use identification Crankcase

I'm looking at part of a crank case for my 2011 Superduty 6.7L trying to get more info on the function of this side of the crank case.

I see that it is somewhat vented and has a metal sloted attachment. see pictures.

this is the same slot that is plugged for ccv delete kits. Does this side produce blow by as well, or is this a return after the separation of the factory system

thanks

I believe that's the Crankcase vent oil separator.

Here's a link to the 6.7 doc.

Yes I am aware of what the OEM part is.

looking for more details from a tech or someone who knows more about this particular opening at the bottom and its function?

Trying to see if this opening location should truly be open(factory) or closed (Block off plate). My guess is that it needs to be vented and not blocked to help blowby escape a true ccv delete.

Sorry must have misread your post.

If removing it. The intake port would need to be blocked and also the oil return at the valve cover. The crankcase would need to be vented.
