When can we start see'n listings and pictures of the new 7700 or what maybe the replacement of it the 8200? according to a new add in a book, they are talking heavier loads and 9600 lbs. towing capacity. Want to see if Ford is going to keep running 7lug pattern on it's wheels.

I still don't understand the concept behind that model anyway. If a guy needs a truck to do that kind of work, that's what the F-250 is for. It's sort of like GM's 1500HD, pointless. These companies always talk about needing to cut manufacturing costs, and then they keep building different versions of the same thing. I think the dealer has the brochures now and they have info. on the "heavy-half" F-150.

First of all I like the looks of the 150, it's sleak and lower then the 250, then the price2nd. It rides better then a 250, my 5ver only has a half ton tung weight and the 7700 has more girth then a wimpy 5bolt wheel half ton truck. The smaller 150 are soft riders, but to soft, my 7700 is very firm in front so it handles great in turns with the trailer.
To get back to it be'n lower, it's what is needed for the 5ver to ride low as posible and level too! if the trailer rides to close to top of rear quarter panels they can bump and do damage to trailer and/or pickup bed.
The 7700 is lighter M/T, but still rated as a three quater ton, well maybe five eights.

The HD payload pkg does use a 7 lug wheel. Looks pretty much the same as the XL wheel.

Thanks, It would be nice if they would switch to 8 lug pattern, so I could put on after market wheels, perhaps wider.

No problem. That would be nice. Maybe if the new one is popular some wheel companies might start making more aftermarket wheels for 7 lug trucks.

The guys who say just buy a F250 really don't understand that a 1500HD is not pointless.

The F250 is a great truck, but it's a giant and not what everybody needing more payload is going to want.

If you want the body style, ride, interior, height, new technology of the 04 F150, you're not just going to settle for a F250 if you aren't necessarily needing daily hauler/work truck, whatever.

I'm waiting for the 8200lb package to be available in more than just the 8ft box. Am I going to have to wait until 05'??

Hopefully they will offer more options for it soon. But as of right now you can only get it on reg and ext cabs with 8' beds and only on XL and XLTs. I would imagine they will offer more though being you could get the current gen 7700 pkg w/ short bed.
