I have a 88 bronco 2 that has been in the family for about 20 years, it's had a lot of work done to it by a lot of different people over that time, it has a 2.9 v6, with very ticky lifters, but other than that, it's been a great driver, I just recently had my mechanic re-seal the engine, and have not been experiencing any fluid leakage, however, I have been having major gas issues, I have loss of power, I smell gas like crazy, and it shifts hard, and sounds like crap, up until a week ago, it was running like a dream, any suggestions?
Havent the foggiest clue. Someone on the right forum might be able to help you though. Try Ranger or Bronco II forums under Small Chassis trucks. Bronco II has literally nothing in common with Bronco except the name It is based on the ranger Platform and shares everything with Rangers.
One quick thing to check since it's running so rich is to check the FPR/fuel pressure regulator on top of the engine near the firewall. If its leaking it will dump raw fuel into the intake. Pull the vacuum hose off of it & if it's wet theres your problem.
