Order Not Picked Up?

Sales guy at my dealership said that Ford didn't pick up my order yesterday. I don't think I've heard anyone else post with that type of order issue so far. Any idea what might have happened?

I know how much that sucks. Double check with your dealer to make sure your order reads "processing, cleared." That would put the order in the queue to be picked up. Then ask the dealer to contact your regional rep. Sometimes they can help with future dates and even once in a while make sure the order gets attention. Good luck!!

Just curious when you order it?

Been lots of posts about it. I am still waiting (ordered end of May) for VIN and some are still waiting that ordered before me. My dealer called the rep Tuesday. She was told they are not adding any new ones with the camera package until they are caught up or have a supply (for what that is worth).

I put the order into the dealer last Thursday. He was expecting Ford to pick up the order yesterday (Wednesday). I understand that Ford isn't going to fill the order right away, but I didn't think they would ignore it.

Hmm, when I put my order in on 8/20 which was a Saturday, I checked with Ford Chat on Monday and they did not see the order. On Tuesday 8/23 they did see the order and that it was in "processing" then finally today 9/15 I got given a VIN.

Another note, I did not order the trailer camera systems, but I did order the camera in the center high mount stop lamp (CHMSL) which was one of the reasons for last week's stop in scheduling so apparently during that week off they got that issue resolved.

Picked up = VIN & Build date, if you have your VOC, then Ford has it. But, it will be awhile before you see your VIN. The dealer is unrealisticly hopeful at the moment. Normally it would work that way, but not with the new model and the on going delays....going to be some waiting.

Rep explained to me that the stop was to allow the assembly line to catch up. Yes the cameras caused the original backup but then they were rescheduling practically every order so by stopping the new orders they could get back on track and hopefully build vehicles on their first scheduled date. We will know soon if it works.

Still behind. So nothing is likely wrong with your order, just Ford isn't cramming them all through. '16 inventory is in good shape so they'd rather get it right, which I'm happy about.

The downside of the order not being picked up is that it gives me additional time to agonize over 18" vs 20" tires.

I'm getting 18" wheels. Cheaper replacement cost down the road. going to keep the truck for many years to come.
