Why does it die?

I have a 1990 ford f150 with a v8 5.0 engine, lately its been dying uncontrolably, the only time a can be sure that it wont die is when im driving over 30 mph. But slow take offs, and idling kills it almost everytime. What could be wrong and how can i fix it?
any help would be appreciated.

try looking at you air system (air filter, box, crank-case filter, pcv valve) - make sure everything is clear and clean.
