Hi I bought a new coleman lantern 262bh its only 5800 pounds and roughly 27 foot long. I have a 2006 f 350 king ranch crew cab long bed 4x4 can it be towed safely with out a weight distribution set up ? I am not trying to go much faster than 60 to 65 mph thanks for any advice
Certainly should have plenty of pulling and stopping power. Trailer sway is something that you may (or may not) have issues with. I've had no trouble with much heavier loads up to 10,000 pounds but travel trailers can be tricky.

Weight distribution is not likely to be an issue. Sway control, as previously mentioned, may be. I believe there are sway-only kits out there.
Not trying to be your conscience, but don't cheap out on a hitch setup. If you're towing, you've got two valuable assets on the road and irreplaceable ones in the cab.
You've gotten some sage advice: make sure when you load your stuff in the trailer you keep in mind having a bit more on the tongue side (10% is the rule of thumb), that greatly helps control sway. Your hitch is plenty strong, but choose carefully the draw-bar and ball and that you have the correct height (drop or rise) on the draw-bar so your trailer is level when fully loaded and hooked up. Sometimes this last part takes a bit of trial and error.
I use a Equal-is-ER brand hitch with 1000 lb bars. It is load leveling, and sway control in 4 directions. I am pulling a Jayco 27 foot(31.5 Fever long hitch to bumper), weighs in at 7500 GVW with my 350. I rarely tow without the equalizer bars and I have seldom experienced a problem without, but certain loading conditions like tail heavy (full black and grey) empty water which is up front will create interesting issues if you trailer isn't slightly nose down, it's enough weight on the hitch. Undulating roads and bad road conspditions ect will lead to situations. I have been towing for 10 years with this set up and am extremely happy with how this trailer handles. I frequently tow with full water or full tanks and it's worth it to use it. While I do always try to load front heavy for big trips we are often at the trailer GVW and not that far off the trucks. While we have lots of room on the GCWR like 2500 lbs, the GCWR on a 150 would easily be over and RAWR would be over as I carry bikes, firewood, gas, generator ect in back of the truck for the bigger trips. I good hitch set up ISPs well worth it.
I picked up my trailer today and they installed a weight distribution set up kind of pricey at about $600.00 dollars. I suppose its not really to bad compared to the total cost of the trailer and honda eu3000is inverter . I am just a poor old farm boy ! but I am very Happy with the towing set up that they sold me for the trailer . all my kids are raised I have 3 boys one 32 one 26 and wait for it I got the Shocker of a lifetime when 3 years ago my better have told me that she was having another boy ! so my son Wyatt and I stopped in and was looking at some trailers and he said he wanted to get a trailer and camp and go fishing ! keep in mind he is 56 pounds and acts like he is 16 so I said why not lets go camping and fishing ! looks like good times ahead now all we have to do is get out there and get er done thanks for all the great advice by the way Wyatt is Crazy about Big Trucks ......
