The recalls do keep coming

Heartland Recreational Vehicles LLC is recalling 4,585 2016-2017 Wilderness and Mallard travel trailers, 2015-2017 Elkridge fifth wheel travel trailers, and 2017 Sundance and Torque travel trailers. The affected vehicles have an LED light on the front cap of the camper that may short circuit and overheat.

Keystone RV Co. is recalling 19 2017 Dutchmen Voltage toy hauler fifth-wheel trailers manufactured March 11, 2016, to June 14, 2016. The affected vehicles were incorrectly built with a 18,000 lb rated fifth wheel pin box hitch instead of a 21,000-pound rated hitch.

Cruiser RV is recalling 649 2017 Shadow Cruiser, Fun Finder, MPG, Radiance, South Fork, and Stryker recreational trailers. The affected vehicles have an LED light on the front cap of the camper that may short circuit and overheat.

Do you REALLY think they are doing it because it's the right thing to do????

They have been doing this for years. No change. As soon as someone finds a way to save a nickle, they all jump on. How about the change to slide mechanisms like Schwintek and Bal? Anyone think you see those systems everywhere because they are so troublefree or are more reliable than the old gear motors? Surely not!

the older I get.. .... ..

my past trailer was a "LITE" a 2006.. did not keep it long. it was 3,300 pounds and 21 feet.
I could not live with the "LITE"-ness of it... everything could flex/bend/give.. etc.

I later got a 2005 Coachman. a more robust unit... real wood faces.. real metal. fiberglass type body...
I guess this old body of mine just like Metal/weight/firmness .. Mass... I do not know for sure.

but what I see on the market today.. I will continue to keep my 8,000 pound trailer..
