First of many stupid questions
Sorry, Still haven't managed to score a manual yet. By the way which one is the best?
Untill I get one, I need to get the wiper arms off to re position them, how do they come off?
I can get them to move about 1/2 inch. On Brit cars, there is normally a nut under a cover, but I can't see see one
It has been a long time since I took one off or looked at one. Try looking at the bottom of the arm for a clip that you pull out which releases it from the splines of the shaft
The wiper arms are mounted on a splined shaft. You just (very carefully if your paint is good) get underneath it and pry it straight up from the shaft. The spring loading of the blade does not help. The factory workshop manual is available in paper or on CD-ROM. Depending on how much you plan to take apart, the '64 - 72 Ford Parts and Accessories manual is a gold mine with an illustrated parts breakdown section and a list of almost every part on your truck by part number (as it was in 1975 when the manual's last edition came out). It,too, is available on CD-ROM at a very reasonable price. The paper form is easier to use, but is rare, huge, and pricey. The 1965-66 Ford F100 - F250 Illustrated Facts and Features Manual is cheap and full of interesting information. All of these are available from the usual U S F100 - F250 parts sources. I'm guessing your next question will be: Where do I get parts for this thing? Good luck with the wiper arms.

For most purposes I find the factory shop manual to be the best. This is the manual that the Ford dealership service technicians would have used when working on our old trucks - I find the information is much more specific to the vehicle than something like a Haynes or Chilton manual that covers a bunch of years. For 1966 there are 5 volumes in the Ford set, counting the preliminary manual. Not sure what year your truck is, but this is an example of a 1966 set.
RangerMercMan is right - there is a small spring loaded catch on the inboard bottom of the arm to pull/pry back on while you're prying the arm up off the shaft until the bottom of the arm clears the bottom of the shaft. Did that make any sense?
The wiper arms seem pretty simple but can be a struggle. There's a little tab that must be pulled back to permit it to go over the spline. A screwdriver (or two) is the most-used tool but I suggest you wrap it in tape and use some small pieces of soft wood to pry against. If you can, mark the location of the arm on the spline before it pops completely off so it will go on in the same place. There is probably a Ford tool for this but I've never heard of it.

At least one of the larger parts suppliers sells a wiper arm removal tool. I don't remember which. I almost bought one when I couldn't get mine off. The little plastic pry bar in a door panel tool kit from harbor freight works and is less likely to chip the paint.
