Not charging
Hi guys hope all is well
My 1975 f350 has stopped charging . Obviously I changed the alternator and the power regulator but still I'm not getting the expected 14 v at the battery .
I'm out of ideas as I'm not a mechanic just aspiring enthusiasts of this truck.
Could I be missing something obvious
I have checked the ground and that seems fine.
All fuessable links have continuity
I don't know what impedance readings I should get on the alternator terminals
?
I have ground and 12v going to the battery feed. But I have no voltage at the s terminal ? Is that correct!
Sorry to be so vague but I'm stumped
Please offer advice if you can I would appreciate it . Or better still if your in Nashville please come lend a hand . I have a fridge full of beer
Thanks mark

The "S" terminal has no voltage except in "Start". The "I" terminal means Ignition and is hot when the key is turned to the first position.
What ground did you check? The negative battery cable should be secured to the engine block - not the frame.
A very important ground is between the engine and the cab...look at the firewall... there should be a strap or ground wire attached to a threaded post secured by a nut and the other end secured to the intake manifold or head. Not having this ground creates all sorts of weird problems.. one time I neglected to hook it up and my rig's electric fuel pump would cycle when I turned on the headlights.
Lastly, clean and tighten the ground and check the ground wire between the voltage regulator the core support.. clean metal to clean metal.
