If I can gather the $$$ I'll be sure let you know, maybe we can "educate" you. Might even sit back and let you get some "hands on" experience.

Anyone going to Petit Jean next weekend for the swap meet? Wed. is our anniversary and I was able to snag a cabin at the State Park for the weekend. With Micki in tow i'm not sure how much I'll get to hang out at the swap meet. Hope to see you guys there.

Well, I am just now seeing this on Sunday morning. How did it go?

It was a surprisingly long day, but it went pretty well I think.

The OD band broke at the mount tab, so I did find the definitive "this is whats wrong with it". That's the good news. The bad is there were just a couple of tiny pieces of brass or copper in the valve body that I could not account for. So I ordered a new torque converter to go along with it.

Other than being very time consuming it wasn't too difficult a task........ assuming it works when I'm done that is. If not then it was a huge PITA that I'm never doing again.

Sounds like me and automatic transmissions. I'll build a $30K power shift trans in a piece of equipment any day, but have only had good luck with an auto out of a car once out of several tries. I'll stick to the big stuff. :-)

Made it to Petit Jean. From what I can see from the road there aren't a lot of vendors here for the swapmeet. Hopefully there'll be a lot more tomorrow. Micki wants to hike the trail down to Cedar Falls, one of the most strenuous in the park, in the morning. Wish me luck, hope my ol' worn out body can make it!

Ive done that trail several times. Down to the falls isn't bad. Coming back up is a killer.

Yeah my tired ol broken down body is telling me this morning about it.
We made a walkthrough of the swap meet, first time ever that I bought nothing.
