We I bought my 390 the motor had been rebuilt and the guy said that the crank had been turned 10-10. Does this reduce the the stroke of the engine any?
Your turned crank is not going to increase or decrease the stroke. Turning the crank in a normal manner (no offset stuff) will only require the bearing shell thickness to increase to take up the extra space because of the smaller crankshft journals. The only crankshaft journals that I know of that get any offset work are the rod journals and that is something you would know you had done because it costs too much to miss.
If you have a crankshaft from an unknown source that has been turned and you need to know if it may have something done like offset work you will find it when you put the first piston and rod in and the piston will stick out of the block quite a bit when it is at top dead center. That wouldn't be good unless you want to get the special pistons needed for that setup. That would be expensive!
