First Time driver need help!

Alright so I just recently bought a 2005 f150 xlt 5.4 v8, figured I'd save up and buy it and do all the maintenance and it would all be done by the time I got my licence

Changed fuel filter, oil, air filter
And just recently decided to tackle the spark plugs. Changed them all to autolite ht15 , 5 broke, disconnected the battery and installed them. After 2 days of work I was expecting my baby to run even better than before but I started it and it idled rough and when I hit the accelerator it would take a couple seconds before accelerating very very slowly and backfiring. No obd codes. In hindsight I think I touched the maf sensor inside the intake. Could that be the cause ? If not I would like to have some pointers from you veterans . She ran beautifully before the spark plugs.

First thing are your spark plugs gapped correctly to the spec for the truck? Second thing is to make sure all your COP's are good. ( COP = Coil On Plug )

If you have a spark plug that isnt gapped right that can cause a misfire and it can happen with the COP's too. Another thing to check is to make sure the MAF is clean and not plug up with an gunk and make sure it is in its spot securely and any connections are connected securely.

Next thing to check is to make sure that all your vacuum lines are connected securely to any points they connect to, you also want to check and make sure there are no leaks and that all the little T's and elbows are in good shape and there is no cracks. A vacuum leak can cause a misfire as well

Check from the vacuum cannister and connector points follow them around to the various places on the engine and make sure there are no holes or cracks in the line and the T's and elbows are all good, you can use some soap and water to help you do that as well, but a visual inspection will help as well.

Give that a go and let us know how you make out, but I would check those things first as those are items that can cause a misfire

Alright so after walking about 20 km to get to the truck and test it ;
Plugs are all properly gapped, no vacuum leaks, cops are all functioning properly

I had an epiphany last night,
Beeing the hands on curious type ,when I changed the plugs out I wanted to see what a maf looked like to understand how it measured air so I stuck my hand inside the manifold and touched it. I'm leaning towards maf sensor beeing broken. Again no check engine light. Is it possible that a failed maf sensor could be my problems ?

Also I'm far from a mechanic or electrician , just going with common sense here. Is there a way that testing for continuity in the maf sensor would tell me if its good or not ? Seems to me if I broke a filament there wouldn't be continuity anymore . If that would tell me if the sensor is good or not what two prongs would I have to touch with a voltmeter
