luggage rack
I have this annoying squeaking coming from the roof when I put weight on my luggage rack and it seems to be coming from the rail that holds the rack, but only when there is weight on it. Anyone?

Noise equal frictrion. Anything designed to move that doesn't have adequate lubrication or ablative material can squeak. the rack only squeaks when weight is on it because without a load the fricition isn't high enough to cause the vibration at slip. Remove rack rack, clean and lube supports ad mating surfaces with teflon, beeswax or similar non staining non oily lube. Reassemble.
