Temp. Sending unit

I'm told there's two temperature sending units on the engine one for the gauge and the other to tell the transmission that the engine is up to temperature... can anyone tell me where the second one listed is located? And how can I fool the trany to think the engine is up to temperature?

There's only one temp sender on theses engines and it's for the gauge, there is also a temp switch for the high idle and timing advance but neither of those go to the TECA.

There is a transmission oil temperature sensor in the solenoid pack inside the transmission, the only inputs the transmission gets from the engine is tach and throttle position.

There is a relay for the TECA located in the wiring harness for the right side glow plugs and the wiring to the Cold Idle Solenoid, Cold Idle Timing Advance and FSS. The Cold Idle items are activated/deactivated by a temperature controlled On/Off (ON less than 112*, OFF above 112*) switch located in the forward end of the right head, underneath the radiator hose neck on the thermostat housing.
There are 4 wires to the TECA Relay and it is quite possible that the temperature On/Off switch affects this wiring.

Those are two separate systems on these trucks and have no interaction at all.

Is your od light blinking? Tach working? Those will tell you if the TECA Relay is working.

The tach works and the OD light doesn't blink... could someone tell me where the wires are and what they/the connector looks like that goes to the transmission? Thanks.
