Questions while In the middle of EBPV delete

I am in the middle of an EBPV delete and I have turbo out and I bought a kit and I was curious if I should use any sealant between these two surfaces? I watched a video on YouTube and the kid said ford doesn't recommend any sealant, but he put some anyways.Should I use any? If so what? Orange permatex? Thanks!

No sealant is necessary, just lightly clean the surface. Alternately, I have used VHT high temp header paint as a gasket with milled joints like this as was suggested by a machinist I use.

You should rebuild the turbo while it's out, check spturboost.com for their rebuild kits and upgrade your wheel, and dip the rusty parts in some Rustolum rust remover, that thing will leave the metal looking like new.

Thanks for the info! I'm in the middle of a zf6 swap,so the upgrades to the turbo will have to wait. I'm going to look into rebuild kit.

I tried to put the turbo back on after work last night and didn't have the patience to hook up the band clamp to the y collector for the up pipes. I think I have it set up right, but is there supposed to be a small space between the turbo and the y collector or are they supposed to sit flush?

also I tightened the y pipes to the manifolds before I had the turbo on, so I had to loosen those bolts back up, should I get new nuts, or are they ok to loosen then re tighten?

Thanks

Pulled the old y connector out of the trash. Have the same gap as when I try to install the turbo back on the truck and the new y collector

Do the surfaces mate tight against each other? Is it a gap or is that just how it looks on the outside?

That's perfectly normal and fine.

I got it all back together. I just didn't have the patience last night, and wanted to make sure I wasn't fighting something that wasn't necessary.

Thanks for the help
