Oxygen Sensor

Is it o.k. to run the oxygen sensor circuit in a open loop mode? I have been troubled by studdering and bucking at times and came up with a code 41. The exhaust is so rusty and worn I'm not wanting to bother with trying to put another one in until the end of the month when I get brand new exhaust. Other than possibly mileage, is there any reason I can't just leave it unplugged and run in the truck's default mode? It runs super unplugged. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

Yeah, you can do that, but the trucks computer will freak...
You better not plan on driving the truck too many miles or demanding any performance from it.

Good Luck...
