Sure. That would work too. Sort of like Manual mode, leaving the down-shifting to the computer.

I did that sometimes but sometimes I accidentally shift down an extra gear down and when I slow down a bit, there's a nasty THUNK and the engine revs like crazy while everything in the back bed shifts to the front.
