3" ball mounts on the way?!?
So, in another thread that some of us have seen, this picture that I stole from jackfordsd350 (praise be unto him) shows a ball mount from weigh safe. The interesting thing is, it's held in by the 3/4" pin, and I don't see any reducer sleeves

I contacted Weigh Safe several weeks ago and had a nice response from them. They are working on the engineering and design of a 3" ball mount and it will be in line with their quality products. They should have them in manufacturing in the early fall and out to consumers shortly after. As stated about some other aftermarket products most of these guys are sure to have their products ready for SEMA which is in early November at Las Vegas. This one was probably a prototype for a prototype truck!

Right I hope weigh safe would be single piece aluminum for the 3", though, as their 2.5" was. Man I love those ball mounts

I also asked the Weighsafe rep about corrosion and winter corrosive damage, ie salt contaminate water etc. There is no seal around the ball where it is held in the mount and I know that over time contamination will enter that well. He indicated they considered it but had not received any complaints and also they were not sure how to accomplish installing a seal. I really would like one of these ball mounts but the possibility of salt intrusion worries me. Sometimes simpler might be better for certain conditions.

Got an update from Weigh Safe on their new 3" ball mount hitch today.
"It is right now being tested to get certified at 21,000 lbsmax gross trailer weight. That testing should be done this sometime thisweek. Unless there are any delays in the testing process, we are still onfor November 1st!
Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you!"

The Weigh Safe hitch is a very cool hitch that displays tongue weight when hooked up. They come in adjustable sizes up to 10 inch. A 3 inch shaft means we would not have to deal with the adapters and have a very cool hitch that will work for many different trailers.

Positives
No reducers=less slop
Alum.=Light
3" version=higher tow rating (2.5" is rated for 14,500, 3"...21,000).
Scale=more accurately balanced load
Down sides
$$$$$$$
More parts, more things to go wrong (ie the gauge)
Wish it had a keyed pin that was the same as the drop (subjective opinion)
Those are what I come up with off the top of my head.
