Has anyone had experience with using an Edge Gas Evolution CTS2 Tuner? I just bought a 2016 F150 XLT with the 3.5 EB. I wish Ford would have used some sort of gauge for the boost PSI.
Not that particular product but I had a different Edge product for a diesel (came with the truck I bought) and it was a complete pile of junk. Turns out my experience was a majority, not the minority. I will never buy an Edge product after that experience. Can't fault them on after-sales support though, they do own up to their problems and try to take care of customers.
Regardless of all that, if you're going to tune an Ecoboost then you are looking in the wrong place. Get a custom tune from a place like MPT, Leading Edge Tuning, or some other place that has good skills tuning an Ecoboost.
The display on the lariat trim levels (and higher) do have a boost gauge. Buy a ScanGaugeII if you're just looking for boost. I watch boost on mine, plus three other parameters.
Thanks ONUG I looked into the ScanGauge II and that is exactly what I needed. So I ordered one.
Nice! Glad to help. Mine actually shows a negative boost value until I stop feathering the throttle. But my dash gauge hits about 1lb of boost at the same time as the ScanGaugeII, so I think it's pretty accurate. Have fun!
That is diesel talk. All you need with a gasser is a good tune. The Ecoboost already has sensors and diagnostics out the whazoo from the factory, including dual wide-band O2.

nothing like a good post police.
evidenty all folks don't know what a pyrometer is, not a tuner, sensor or diagnotics

What the heck...? I think I just witnessed the grown-up version of a little kid that is stumped and yells out, YOU'RE STUPID!! and stomps away.
The gasoline engine has a throttle blade that limits air supply to the engine, and there is an O2 sensor that monitors air/fuel ratio. The exhaust temps are managed by proper air/fuel ratio and spark timing, which is governed by the tune. The diesel engine does not have a throttle blade, does not have spark plugs, and the foot pedal controls fuel supply, and air/fuel ratio varies by a huge amount. Exhaust temp is monitored because you don't know air/fuel ratio and whether the engine is running too rich.
---> Again, all you need with the Ecoboost is a good tune.

I think you were corrected because your advice was wrong. You should take it as constructive criticism and learn from it.
