Engine bay clean up

I am currently restoring my grandfathers 76 with a 390. I really love the look of those super clean engine bays (no wire). So why do I never see any talk about using a starter with built on solenoid? That gets rid of those wires at least. Also any more suggestions for engine bay clean up would be greatly appreciated.

3G alternator eliminates the old regulator wiring harness... Much cleaner look as far as this goes.

I guess I should have mentioned that I have done the 3G alternator swap. What about you guys who have changes to a solenoid on the starter and gone to an HEI dist?
