I know I've come a little late to the 2017 party but I'm surprised by the references in the owner's manual to trailer stickers and reverse guidance. I thought that the Super Duty wasn't going to include that tech.
I guess it's fine with me that it's there, but is anyone planning to use the actual guidance features or just the cameras? Has anyone seen this working yet at the drive events? Just wondering if this is actually useful or just a gimmick.
I don't care for the trailer backup assistance, however, if I had a truck with the blind spot monitoring, I would be very excited about being able to put my trailer specs in and have the added monitoring of the trailers blind spots.
The **** is one of those features I would be tempted to remove and replace the panel with one out of an XL to keep the cleaner dash. (-=
The **** is not in the Super Duty like the F150. However the stickers are there to predict where the trailer will go (and show you with lines on the screen) as you back up and to warn of an impending jack knife.
I ordered the full system mainly for the integrated cameras. There is no need for the backup assistance other than see into the corners and along the side of the vehicle for obstacles. Some campsites are tight and crashing a boat on dry land is not in the cards because the slide in was blocking the view. And then there is my human back up assistant. Stand in the shadows on the blind side and wave arms with no relation to trailer movement or direction. A couple of feet could mean 6 inches and 6 inches could mean a couple of feet. I love and enjoy being with my wife. I will enjoy her even more with the assistance of a few cameras.

Ditto, I figure I may even be able to use the front cam to park snug up against the back wall of the garage w/out the use of a hanging tennis ball or fancy laser gadget. Heck, maybe even back in.
Funny how I can send my 12 year old son back of the trailer and get better information than my wife. He's 14 now and we don't even have to talk when backing anymore. When I'm ready to start the backup, he automatically jumps out of the truck and runs to the back of the trailer on the driver's side. It's all one-handed signals with him.
My wife needs time to stow her phone in her purse and then hand it and everything else in her lap to me before she jumps out of the truck. Another minute or two I'll finally see her come into my side mirror view with a "why aren't you backing up" look on her face. She prefers the open arms coming together method to give me distance to go. I've learned that her arms can go from wide apart to stop when I've only moved a foot. I'm really looking forward to the trailer camera!
Still don't know if the backup assist stuff will be helpful. I'll put the sticker on the Harley trailer and see how it works.

From that I have to believe she didn't have to find her shoe under the seat and socks and tie all the laces too, after the 15 minute ride from the road to the campsite. Guess she doesn't want to miss something, but then again "Did you see that cute dog?" "What dog".

Made me laugh cause your wife and my wife must be the same lady! I just don't think backing up is in their DNA!
I am SO looking forward to this technology, and we even talk on the phone. I will say I can't see you and she looks confused until she moves to the other side, so now I ask her if she can see my mirror. I at least have it down to her pointing which way she wants the trailer to go so I know what to do. She use to just shrug her shoulders at me.

It may be in the DNA, but how does that explain all the others who try to help and are completely useless. Lots of experience at loading docks years ago and guys who should know (they work on the dock 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year) are just as clueless. But it is fun chiding my wife and she has actually gotten a little better. Been married 47 years now.
It is fun teasing her a little bit. Just keeps her humble and makes me look like a wizard in her eyes. She knows it's not her forte and is happy to let me be the man.

Oh, how I can relate. Though I love my wife...sometimes her right is her right and her left is her right (its always 50/50). Then there is the hand signal to keep coming back right until I bump that picnic table and she waves her hands to stop. Oh how these cameras will make me love her more
