Is there a timeout feature on the interior lights if the back hatch or window is left open for any length of time?
Is there a way to modify this feature to allow the hatch or window to be open for extended periods of time, without worrying about battery drain?
Truck is a '98 Expy Eddie Bauer with the 5.4 L and 4WD.
Thanks! Great info on this forum.

I think the time limit is an hour. The "battery saver" feature, to my knowledge, can't be modified to allow more or less time. What i did, was to install a small rocker switch in the rear of the vehicle that will shut off the interior lights with the tailgate or the window open. Works great while partying or washing/waxing.

Check my post "Deactivating interior lights......" in this group dated 3/17/03. It clearly tells how to install the switch. Its very easy and works very well. Hope this helps.
