Freight Carrier

I do not have a clue what is involved in shipping large items; i.e., hoods, tailgate, radiator support, etc..

If understand correctly, items mentioned are too heavy and/or large for standard UPS, or similar carrier?

Common response when asked, large items usually too labor intensive in packaging and transporting to freight source, and mostly too costly. If the case, appears only option would be Craig's List?

Comments, recommendations appreciated.

Items that are not at great risk of dings and dents, and that can be shrink wrapped to a pallet, can be shipping cheaply through Fastenal Company's 3rd Party Logistics service. I've used them often with great service. More specifically, that would be within the USA because I recently hit a wall with Customs trying to ship from Canada into the US. Stu

This appears doable, the link offers a whole new set of options. Not sure if they are affiliated with local Fastenal outlets; if so, I may be able to use them as a local 'drop off' location? I have a source for free pallets, encasing the item in shrink wrap would not be a major task.

I greatly appreciate the info, intend stopping by local outlet and inquire. I thank you!!

It's easy as can be. My local store even does the shrink wrap and has pallets. The transaction is handled just like a retail sale, whether paid for by the shipper or receiver. Pretty sure it's that way nation wide. I've had items shipped to me several times with same experience. Stu

Wow, a 'do it themselfer', Stu, I thank you, expect to be in the area of both Fastenal, and Grayhound outlets in next couple days and will inquire into both.
