I recently purchased 1987 Bronco II and have notice that there is a bit of a hesitation when the RPM's are somewhere between 2500 and 3000. I have already replaced the plugs, wires and distributer cap and I'm still getting the hesitation. Does anyone have any ideas???
Sorry about that, the computer is capable of storing trouble codes as well as running test to determine if the systems are operating properly. Look in the tech info post at the top of the forum for more information on the EEC-IV system and codes.
Changed wires, plugs, filters etc. still doing it. This may shed a little light on the situation. The last few days it has been cold and rainy here. everytime I drove it, it ran smooth as could be. than yesterday it got warmer again and it started with the hesitation. Could this be a problem with an air sensor not reading the right air temperatures?
I would do the codes and fuel pressure. If you don't get any codes then I will find the ranges for the ECT & IAT sensers and you can check them for the proper reading.
Problem solved...After I replaced air filter, fuel filter, plugs, wires etc. I still had the problem. So what I did was went through every wire connection (harneses) and found that there was one that wasn't put together properly. I pushed them together and have not had the problem since. I want to thank you for all your help in trying to solve this annoying problem. Looks like the person that I bought the truck from replaced the head and didn't hook everything back up the way is was supposed to. Now she runs like a dream!
