Low end

I know the 2014 f250 is a work Truck. Mine has the 6.2. But I go and play at the local drag strip once in awhile. It runs great but is there a way to make it come off the line better? About 100 feet off the line the engine comes alive and pulls down the track well. First 100 feet it feels like a Ford escort.

Three for sure ways, but they will be both negative for daily driveability, and fuel economy.
1. Forced induction
2. Different torque converter that allows more RPM while at ther light.
3. Deeper gearing
Or any combination of the above........and none are cheap!
Anything else probably will be a crap shoot.
Because of modern drive by wire engine controls, your throttlr body opens as your engine builds RPM, and is not fully open until it reaches around 4000-4500 RPM. Now if you can find a tuner thar makes it open up a little sooner it MAY help a little bit, but only the stopwatch will tell you that for sure.
Other than that, talk to an engine builder and find out if the heads can be worked to flow better.

If one could find a torqueconverter that did not engage until around 3000 RPM, your 6.2 would be a rocket off the line.........if you can keep your tires from smoking!!!!
Good luck!!!!!!!

Don has some good suggestions if you want to do some real work on the truck.

Lots of people have reported noticeable increases in low-end torque with a tuner. Apparently the factory tune doesn't allow the throttle plate to open fully until the engine comes up to 4,000+ RPMs. I'd give Mike at 5-star tuning a call...

6,000 plus pounds..
3:73 gearing my guess.. 4:30's are better.
locking torque converter is slower to accelerate,
Ford 6.2L fly by wire is designed to be a WORK truck.. not fast.
my old Chevy with stock converter locked at 1,500 rpm.. aftermarket one did 4,000 rpm. much better at accelerating .
4 wheel drive is slower/heaver.

Try a mustang. or a corvette.

You should list the details of your truck. Imo, and I've heard a few peeps from others here and there too, opening up the exhaust some helps throttle response. Probably not the cure to your off the line woes but wouldn't hurt.

Also, I assume you're turning the traction control off while doing this? The TC will greatly limit acceleration off the line. I've done my own tests on the straight stretch infront of my fields, definetly makes a difference

What sort of numbers are you getting? And what's the specifics of your truck? Just curious.

It's just for fun no need for a Mustang. But I forgot about the traction control, that may be the ticket. All I've done is remove the silencer in exhaust and put on a high flow stainless muffler. I did the air box snout mod and put in AEM dry flow filter. I'm not sure of the gears but will post when I find out.
60 ft 2.58 / 330 ft 7.15 / 1/8 mile 10.98. Kph 63.91. The car I lost too was only 1.2 mile per hour faster but was a full second faster et.

Cool. Definetly shutdown the traction control, it'll help.

I think it's great you're taking your truck out and having some fun with it. Sure it's a big work truck and out of its element. But it's yours and you're having fun using it how you want to. Good for you.

That's pretty leisurely out of the hole. Get your 60' time down and you will be better. Are you on the brakes and gas getting it revved up when staging?
