I was told about a new junkyard in another state that has lots of 80s and older vehicles. Other than the jag front end, an explorer rear, Rims for widow makers, and script tailgates and beds. What should i keep my eye out for. Flathead exhaust and such things even if i dont need them the unobtainable items my FTE brothers cant find. I also want to know the cars that match up with our trucks such as Toyota 4x4 steering box. I dont think they have any rare vehicles but i may hit gold in parts that havent been picked thru yet.
Is this stuff for one of your builds?
Here is some general info.
Explorer rear and jag IFS have different bolt patterns, I would use a 70-81 camaro or 68-72 chevelle rear with the jag if this is for your build.
v8 explorers normally have a posi, 6 cyl ones normally dont. Gear codes are on the drivers door, bring the codes with you or bookmark on your phone.
If you are grabbing a jag IFS get the brake line nuts that are on the engine compartment side and screw onto the front brake lines. Also get the hardware for the front sway bar mounts.
Too many things to look for, lots of fun to search but a lot of work to get the stuff out of the yard unless they torch the stuff out for you.
Have fun!
Yes looking for things for my 4 builds but also looking for anyone that needs something they cant find. Im volunteering to search for the unumtanium for them. I feel lucky i may just strike gold.
I would look for radios that will work in the early bonus built 48-50 and 51-52. Someone is always looking for one. 48-50 can also use the 49 Mercury Car radio (not sure what was in the truck)(Chrome instead of beige paint).
