NFTE FALL FLING

Good point
May be a potential date conflict for the 22nd. They are having a huge 100 mile and 100k run at uhwarrie that weekend. Folks show up from all over to race this. One of the largest 100 milers on the east coast. I do not think it will affect the ohv trails. But it will certainly impact camping and in general getting around the park/forest.
Doesn't seem to be anything large planned on the 15th. That may be a better weekend.
What do yall think?

The month of October is also going bring lots of deer hunters to the woods around uhwarrie. The abundance of game land in that area brings hunters from all over the Piedmont that are not fortunate enough to have private land to hunt. At least in the state park the hunters won't be an issue. I don't care either way just offering a viable option.

No camping on the lake at Morrow from what I've seen. A bit further from the trails. Plus you can't access them from their campground. Which means folks have to trailer their non titled rigs or bikes to the trail heads. Heck of a lot easier to park and ride from the campsite. During hunting season no woods are safe so that's not really an issue. Can't hunt on the ohv trial areas anyway. Morrow is a nice place, I've been there, but it might not be best suited for what our group wants to do.
But this is yalls chapter. Whatever the group decides or whatever works best for the whole.
All I did was suggest changing weekends because of a potential date conflict with another event in that area.
We can change dates, venues, activities, whatever yall want to do.

Yeah I certainly don't give a rip it was just a suggestion. I'll have my Polaris ranger and my boat could care less about all the other crap. I don't know where all hunters are allowed in uhwarrie, all I know is I hunted there one morning and when the sun came up it looked like a pumpkin patch around me with all the orange vest and caps. lol that's when I decided to hunt the farm and lease land. Oh well.

I am game for either weekend the group settles on. But I am going to head out to the mountains on 2 wheel also in October. Time for the leaves to change colors and there is no better place to enjoy that like the top of the highest mountain. Maybe head up 16 into Virginia and ride like the wind. But this is not the thread for riding talk. So lets light up the smoker, pull out the mason jars, tune up the guitars and set up camp.

Looking at the course map of the area for the foot race, it looks to stay south of River Rd, where the OHV's are north of River Road, from what I can tell. However, I realize people are more concerned over how packed the Camp Ground will be on the Friday evening and the Saturday while we're cooking and hanging out.
But if we book our sites, I don't see a problem, since we'll have half the campground tied up.
Up to ya'll.. but if we're gonna book, lets go ahead and do it.

I agree.
Like I posted earlier, the site that Bob had last time is still available on the 15th but not on the 22nd. That is the best site for a big cookout. I'll be glad to get it this time and Bob can have the one side and I'll take the other.

There are a few sites that are the double capacity like that: 6, 20, and 28. I'll Pitch in on the same site. My tent doesn't take up much space, and the driveways had plenty of space for all the trucks and such.
Are you going to sleep in your truck again, or did you find a better camping solution?
