I have a 312 y block in my 55 f100. I am planning to use the borgerson bracket to mount the pump on my y block. Does anyone know what gm pump I can use to bolt onto this bracket? And the pulley do I use the single or the double groove pulley?
You can use most Canned Ham GM pumps. They just differ by how the Return line mounts. I used a single pulley on the pump on my 292. Of course you need a double pulley vibration damper or a bolt on accessory pulley.
Hi bjmayberry2. Do you remember what bracket did you use on your 312? Or have a picture of it? Also what pulley did you use? And last do you know pump model like camaro nova etc? And a maybe a picture of the back of the pump? I really appreciate the help.
I got a power steering pump for a chevelle (I think it was for a 72). Was about 60 bucks (including core) at ORiellys. Might be cheaper at RockAuto.
I used a pulley off of a Ford pump I already had.
This is the bracket I used.
This is what it looks like assembled.
Don't forget the vibration damper pulley needs two grooves or an add on pulley. The lines are best bought from one of the vendors and the steering gear is a Toyota. You'll also need a Pitman Arm that fits the Toyota box and the F100 draglink. It wasn't a no brainier bolt in on mine. I had to do some shimming to get things to line up. After I was happy with the fit, I measured for the drive belt and went to the parts store and bought one. Nice thing about that is if it doesn't fit you can exchange it until you get one that fits.

Reason: Added belt info
thanks for all the information. I am buying my power steering swap parts from Summit Racing. Summit sells all the parts and free shipping and no taxes is priceless. I am just trying to save a little money on the pump. Just last question I assume its just a stock gm pulley on the power steering pump?
