The entire front suspension needs to be rebuilt, can someone give me a list of the components I need for it? I know tie rods, ball joints, the usual but this is my first F150 and I need a little helpful knowledge before I head off to Oreilys
Doing the balljoints is a big job if it's a 4x4, so while you are in there doing that you need to check the outer axle u-joints, the slip joint and inner u-joint on the pass side, and new wheel seals and re-pack the wheel bearings.
It's a 2wd Dave, any other suggestions? Thanks for the info
Welcome to the Bullnose Forum in FTE !
Welcome to Our Family.
I would first advise that you put your truck's specs in your signature so that when you start a thread, everyone knows what vehicle they are answering to. It helps Us, help You. Secondly, I would suggest that when You start a thread, that you include as many photos as possible due to the fact that We are not there with You, but We could be, with pictures. Welcome !

Different vehicles have different setups. Take a picture and post it and we can name the parts for you.
Here are some pics ,sorry not very professional but my space was limited and I didn't know they were upside down till they posted, its a 86 F150 with 302 efi RWD,all the radius arm bushings at oreilys sem to be the same but the axle pivot bushings have several different sizez it seems-anyone know the correct size for this year/setup? and list any other parts I would need for a complete rebuild thanks
Welcome to the nightmare, currently going through it myself as we speak. pic 1 is axle pivot bushings, fun thing about it is there is an option for a 1/2 inch bolt or a 5/8 bolt. how i did it is i bought 2 of each and am returning the ones i dont need because my truck is off the road currently.
pic 2 is rad arm bushings, cost roughly 20$ for the set which has both sides. if your doing axle pivots, undo the shock, caliper, the rad arm bushing nut, n tie rods. whole piece will be out. think it took me 1.5 hours to undo all that stuff n have it on ground.
pic 3 is also a axle pivot bushing.
Pic 4 is your tie rod Assy.
if your steering gear is leaking heavily or has alot of play now is a great time to do it. didnt even disconnect steer gear from tie rod since it was all going.
