Damn Check Engine Light

Yep, its been on for awhile. Looks like its something to do with emmissions. One of my oil change guys told me it has to do with a bad gas cap sometimes.

Anyone else having trouble with the check engine light and emmssion sensors?

Damn Check Engine Light

A check engine light could mean a whole host of things depending on the vehicle. I've had it go on for the oxygen sensor, misfire which turned out to be a bad plug wire, etc. Either way, get it checked out. Not good to drive around with the light on.

Damn Check Engine Light

Our CEL came on on our Tribute. Turned out to be the EGR valve. Like mentioned before, there are 100's of things that will trip the light. Try your dealer or an Autozone to get the codes.

Check engine light

I have a 2001 Escape. My check engine light came on and like the others thought it may be related to my gas cap being loose or seal was bad. When I finally took it to the dealer they said it was related to a recall on the drive train. I guess they need to update the software. They said it was covered under warranty so I didn't have to pay. Might check with your dealer and see if this is related.
