Those channels are still available as far as I know. Here's a picture of the receiver.
I like the 70's music, classic rock stuff, and comedy for the most part.
I guess I'm just going to keep the stock stuff for now. Maybe sometime I'll come across a deal on a factory take unit.
If anybody here is replacing their stock stereo and going with an aftermarket system, I'd be interested in buying you stock stereo, as long as it isn't the base model that I have now. I'm looking for a complete upgrade basically, with Sync, Bluetooth, Sirius etc. Navigation and back up camera really don't concern me.
The aftermarket stuff I've been looking at will run around $1100, and it just isn't worth that to me.
Here the picture of what I have now, and don't want.

That's the same system I have, mine has sync, bluetooth, and Sirius. With all the electronics now days couldn't a module just be added or one of those computer boxes be hooked to the truck to turn some options on?

I have the button for Sirius, and that's it. The truck isn't set up with it.
My big kicker is, the thing sounds terrible. I have the fader set 3/4 to the rear speakers, just to be able to hear them. And hardly any bass at all.
I think you have to put a satellite antenna in the roof if you get that sync, bluetooth, and sirius.....? Do you have the booster thing under the back seat that says 700w?

I have both Sync, and Bluetooth. Sirius will require an antenna. And truthfully I'd give up the Sirius, just to have better sound.
And no, there's nothing under the back seat.

I suspect the factory speakers are not the best. Ive seen the sony ones, and they arent impressive.... Id get some good aftermarket speakers.....and then go from there. (Mine has all the good stuff but no navigation. I have the satelite but wont pay for it. in my area theres plenty of radio stations, which is the STL area)

I'm hoping to get new speakers soon, real soon. I think I'm going to gain a lot of at least decent bass doing that. The speakers that are in the doors nown don't even have a brand name on them, yeah they're cheap.
If your just outside of St Loius, then yes you have some decent music to choose from.
I grew up in Kansas City, and had plenty to listen to. Now being in the Raleigh and Durham area of North Carolina, the music sucks! Unless you want to listen to rap, or hip hop crap, and I'm in my 50's, so uh....... no.
I'd better get moving. We're putting on a BBQ for wife's friends this afternoon, and I still need to grab some more wood for the smoker.
There was a thread here not long ago, asking about best budget upgrades, and speakers were my top answer. Before ripping your truck apart trying to fit a stereo, try some new speakers from any name brand. Night and day difference.
I replaced just the front two door speakers in my XLT work truck and it made a HUGE sound difference. I put in two Alpine middle of the line 2 way speakers. I don't remember all of the prefix letters that denote the different quality levels of their speakers, but these two were from the middle. I would have bought the three way ones but the guy didn't have them in stock to fit the truck. Either way it did make a night and day difference to the sound for about $140.
My birthday is coming up towards the end of September. That will be my best chance to put more money into the truck.
We've only had it a couple of weeks, and I've done the exhaust, pin stripe, vent shades, and new running boards.
We'll see how the new speakers sound in September
