Here's the problem I've owned the truck six months no problems till was on my way down the highway when I guy behind said i had no tailights so i pulled over in the gas station parking lot switched bulbs and then the fun started.
Heres what it does
1. the taillights work but look real dim if you dont press on the brake. When you do press on the brake they go out but the licen light stys lite but when the headlight switch is off the work fine just dim.
2. the left turn signal causes the right to go out. but still flashes
3. when the right is on it works fine and dosn'tcauses the left pulse alittle ,also when you press the brake the front drivers turnsignal lights up
anyone know I checked all the bulbs and fuses and still miffed is the ground bad or a switch the truck is an 85 f150 stepside six clynder 4 speed.

Sounds like a bad ground. Very common with the symptoms you have. Could be either the ground connector in the socket that touches the base of the bulb or the wire that connects that to the box.
If the grounds check ok, make sure you have the bulb in correctly, and the correct bulb. There is a certain way they go in, and they have to be seated all the way, or the contacts on the bottom can get crossed up and cause weird problems.
Well i fixed the problem new headlight and brake switch. That got my lights working removed the trailer pigtail. But then then the lights acted reversed my taillights were brighter than brake so i simply reversed the wires and havn, thad a problem yet. thanks for the input
