door ajar light

door ajar light

is ther any way to bypass the door ajar sensors? i have wd40 the hell out of all of them an still this stupied light an dome lights are staying on. any help please. thanks

Did you lube the ones in the tail gate too? They are often the culprit, and there is one on each latch of the gate. Or you could pull all the panels off and unplug them all.

This was a big problem on Rangers also. Stop by Radio Shack and get a bottle of Electronic Component lubrication. Spray all your door latches, including the rear hatch (2 latches) with some type of cleaner. Then spray with a can of compressed air to clean off. Next spray with the lube and open/close doors a few times.

This is really only a temporary fix for some. I have seen it work and they never have a problem again (my father's Ranger), and others have had to take the door latch out, and there is an electrical plug that has to be replaced.

Explorer switches were prone to breaking off at the connector in the door too.
